A lot goes into building a website and we use a lot of different tools and resources to make that happen, but they usually go unmentioned. In order to credit those that helped make this site possible, we’ve put together a general list of the main tools that we used and will continue to update this page with new additions as we go.
This website is built on the self-hosted version of WordPress, using Gutenberg and occasionally Divi. We use Astra Pro as our theme since it’s easy to build upon to create something custom.
The site is hosted by Linode and we use Cleavr as our deployment and hosting control panel.
Some of the icons are custom, others are from Feather Icons, Zondicons and Hero Icons.
The website is type is set in Kanyon (regular, medium, bold and heavy), a sans serif typeface designed by Oguzhan Cengiz, published by Hurufatfont Type Foundry, from FontSpring. We self-host the type we use on this site for privacy and to prevent rate limiting by external providers when using alternative services and tools, like a VPN.
We use Plausible analytics to gather anonymous statistics about our site. Plausible is a simple, privacy friendly, open source, analytics software that doesn’t use cookies or track users across sites. We use the hosted version, which is completely located in the European Union and fully GDPR complaint.
On some of our questionnaires and surveys, we include a great little animation, thanks to Aayushi Jadhav.
